The question is, 'Why is it so expensive to be a woman?'. Depending on where women live, it could cost up to £80 for beauty products, contraception and sanitary products! But Why?
Of course, all women around the world will use healthcare products and beauty treatments, whether it's just a haircut or sanitary pads, but a study has revealed where exactly women all over the world spend their money.
In most countries, the contraceptive pill is free, however in Russia, they will charge women £23.10 for a monthly pack. I understand that beauty products can be expensive because we don't exactly need them, but for things we need for our health, we have to pay for. The Blood Good Period & The Homeless Period have helped raise awareness that not everyone can afford sanitary products. However, women are still being charged at the moment.
For luxury's like Waxing and manicure, it's mainly a treat to relax us or feel better about ourselves, but realistically, is it worth the money? In the UK, the average price for a leg wax is around £31, where as in Japan, it could cost you around £72.93! I think for me, I'd rather shave my legs!😂 And for the cheapest, it's around £5.73 in the Dominican Republic!
